Kent has nearly 20 years of experience working in employee development, training, and strategic planning. He is currently a senior partner with C.J. Baxter Group, an employee development and consulting firm based in Nacogdoches.
Kent is a recognized international leader, facilitator, and trainer. He is a past cluster facilitator at the nationally recognized Leadershape Institute (www.leadershape.org); and he regularly facilitates leadership and team retreats as well as strategic planning sessions for community organizations.
Kent is also a frequent seminar leader; and occasionally is sought to keynote professional conferences, and banquets and dinners. He has worked with organizations throughout the United States and Jamaica and India.
A graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University (SFA), Kent is very involved in his local community. He is a previous board member and committee chairman for the Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce; past Rotary Club president and assistant governor; and has served on several Rotary district committees. He has been a facilitator and lead instructor at the prestigious multi-state Rotary Lone Star President Elect Training Seminar. Kent also volunteers with Keep Nacogdoches Beautiful, a non-profit community organization; and currently serves on two non-profit boards of directors; both the SFA Alumni Association, and the Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council, where he holds multiple leadership roles. In addition to his role as an adult volunteer with Girl Scout Troop 9129, Kent served as a delegate to the Girl Scout USA national convention in November 2011.
